Biography

Josh Plail is the most recent member to join the JBA Physio team. Having graduated from the University of Nottingham in England with first-class honours in physiotherapy (BSc), Josh commenced his diverse career alongside many of his UK colleagues working within the National Health Service gaining invaluable experience in a variety of specialities. He then progressed to a senior position at the prestigious Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham, working alongside leading consultants within Europe. Alongside this Josh was working within private practice and played an integral role as a physiotherapist within the West Bromwich Albion Football Academy looking after the club's professional academy players.

Since leaving the UK, Josh worked in Wellington, New Zealand where he worked in a busy private practice clinic treating a range of pathologies and conditions. As often the first point of contact for an injury, Josh has plenty of experience when it comes to treating and guiding rehabilitation. In addition to his full-time work, Josh continued his work within high-performance sport and worked for the Wellington Lions Rugby Club.

Josh has recently come to Melbourne to work full-time in private practice, continuing his work in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy.  He has a particular interest in the shoulder and the spine. In addition to his extensive clinical experience and qualifications, he has a further graduate certificate in sports massage, Kinesio taping and strapping and is currently undergoing his dry needling qualification and advanced Pilates training.

Josh enjoys an active and healthy lifestyle and regularly trains in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, of which he wishes to continue with his competitions in Australia. He is also a keen cyclist.

Josh is registered with Workcover, TAC, Medicare and Private Health Insurance. You can receive on the day rebates for Private Health Insurance through HICAPS.
